Vertical Leaf Filter Horizontal Tank

Twin Process Filtration Vertical Leaf Filter Horizontal Tank (VLH) is a pressure filter that consists of a horizontal tank with vertically positioned filter leafs.

Vertical filter leafs filter on both sides, offering a large filtration area in a relatively small vessel. The Twin Process Filtration Vertical Leaf filters can be used for a variety of applications. It can be applied for either primary filtrations involving relatively large high solid contents or for polishing filtration operations with a low solid load. Vertical Leaf Filters are suitable for wet or dry cake discharge.

Wet cake discharge filter models include a high pressure jet traveling through the full length of the filter leaf bundle and removing the filter cake on each filter leaf as its passes. The slurry is discharged through a large oversized drain.

In the dry cake discharge filter models the filter is equipped with a pneumatic vibrator. The filter tank is retracted and the filter leafs are exposing. By actuating the vibrator, the filter cake drops in a bin underneath the filter. The systems are executed with a quick opening closure. The filter cake can be dried by compressed air, inert gas or steam before the cake is discharged by the vibrator.

Vertical Leaf filters can be utilized for manual, semi-automatic or fully automatic operation.

Labor saving

VLH filters have a hydraulic tank retraction and quick-opening cover. One man can easily operate one or more large area units.

No connections to be broken

All piping is connected to stationary cover and unnecessary to break inlet, outlet and drain piping to open filter.

No cake disturbance in opening

Cake covered filter leafs remain stationary during tank retraction.

Fast and easy filter cleaning

In 'Dry Cake Discharge' models, filter leaf cleaning takes place by means of pneumatic leaf vibrator, the filter leafs being fully exposed and the semi-dry or dry cake is discharged without obstruction.

In 'Wet Cake Discharge' Models, the filter is cleaned without opening the filter tank, by single header high pressure jets traveling over the top of the filter leafs. This internal sluice header is operated by means of the same hydraulic cylinder used for tank retraction. The high pressure sluice removes the stickiest cake very rapidly at low consumption of spray water.

Large filtration area in one unit

Up to 200 m2 of area in one filter unit.

Low filter media cost

Filter leafs are covered with either permanent stainless steel wire mesh media or removable textile cloth bags. Long cloth life as bags have no sealing function between filter elements.

Versatile operation

VLH filters can be applied for either primary filtrations involving relatively high solid contents or for polishing filtrations with lower solid loads.

Totally enclosed construction

Prevents evaporation, leakage, fumes from escaping during filtration and air contamination.
